Bendigo’s biggest Harry Potter fan, 29 year old Mary Clunes from Eaglehawk is still waiting for her acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She has been waiting since her 11th birthday but it never arrived.

Every day for the past 18 years she has gone to her mail box but all she’s received is bills and junk mail. She has given up jobs and relationships so she can keep an eye on her mailbox.

The Bendigo Standard approached Australia Post for questioning but they refused to answer.

Ms. Clunes Believes she is Mudblood, a highly derogatory term for a Muggle-born wizard or witch; that is, individuals with no wizarding relatives. She also believes she would have been made a teacher or head of the Quidditch team.

Mary is also Bendigo’s biggest Harry Potter fan. Her obsession took on an unhealthy obsession 2 years ago where she requested her parents build a staircase in their single story house so she could have her own room in the cupboard under the stairs. Bendigo Council denied the permit.

Ms. Clunes has an impressive Harry Potter collection of 2,021 pieces of Harry Potter merchandise including one of the original wands, a stuffed Hedwig the owl and a Dobby The Elf costume
