LONG GULLY—A local woman’s dreams of eternal youth have been shattered after realising the Fountain of Youth she discovered was, in fact, the Long Gully Splash Park.
“I thought I had stumbled upon the greatest medical breakthrough of our time,” said 72-year-old Karen Dawson, who mistook the park’s water jets for an ancient mystical spring. “I saw all these young-looking people running around and thought, ‘My God, it works!’”
Her excitement quickly faded when she was informed that the “miraculously rejuvenated” individuals were just children.
Despite the revelation, Dawson remains optimistic. “At the very least, I got to soak my feet and scare some toddlers. That’s a win in my book.”
The City of Greater Bendigo has yet to comment whether the splash park will be rebranded as “Karen’s Eternal Youth Spa & Water Feature.”
