Maiden Gully couple Nathan and Susan Edwards admitted to despising the name of their niece.
According to the parents, Mario and Shelley Lenovo, they have always been fans of unique and unusual baby names. But according to the rest of the family, “Moonbeam Rainbow Stardust,” it’s crap.
“I thought it sounded lovely at first, but now that it’s out there in the world, it’s just so ridiculous,” said Nathan. “I can’t even say it with a straight face.”
The couple’s older children, Timmy and Sally, also expressed their distaste for their cousin’s name, with Timmy calling it “the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard” and Sally saying she refuses to call her new cousin by the ridiculous name.
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins have also weighed in on the name, with reactions ranging from bafflement to outright hostility.
“I don’t know what they were thinking,” said the baby’s grandmother, who wishes to remain anonymous. “They might as well have named the kid ‘Lunatic Fringe’ for all the sense it makes.”
Despite the widespread disdain for the name, Mario and Shelley have stated that they have no plans to change it.
Moonbeam Rainbow Stardust, meanwhile, was unavailable for comment, as she is currently too busy crying and pooping.
