Parents across Bendigo have united in a frantic, borderline delusional attempt to find “budget-friendly” holiday activities for their children. What they’ve discovered, however, is that “free” really just means “dragging the kids to Kangaroo Flat Library and praying they don’t lick anything… again.”
Parents are flocking to the library like moths to the lights at the MCG.
Mothers in yoga pants and fathers in ill-fitting shorts were seen swapping tired, grim expressions over the library’s stale selection of DVDs and the faint, lingering scent of Play-Doh from what can only be described as a “craft massacre” last year.
“We tried a nature walk,” said one frazzled mum, barely clinging to sanity. “But they found a stick, fought over it, and now we’re banned from Rosalind Park. Again.”
