In what many would consider a routine occurrence, local man Steve Thompson drove his car to work this morning.
Thompson left his house promptly at 8:15 a.m., the usual time he leaves for his job. “I was actually on time today, which is a bit of a win for me,” he said. “Usually, I rush out the door after forgetting my keys or phone, but not today.”
After entering his 2016 Toyota Corolla, Thompson turned the key and began his 20-minute drive to work. “The car started right up. No issues there. Pretty standard,” he noted, adding that the gas gauge was reading just above half full.
Traffic, as expected, was typical for a Tuesday morning. “It wasn’t too bad. I didn’t have to get too aggressive with my lane changes, which was nice,” Thompson said. “You know, just the usual—people not using their indicators, one guy cutting me off. But I got through it fine.”
Thompson also noted that the weather was clear and sunny, with no rain to make the drive more challenging. “A few clouds, but nothing to worry about,” he added. He arrived at his office parking lot at 8:35 a.m., finding an empty space near the front.
“I think today’s going to be a good day. Smooth drive, no issues,” Thompson concluded, preparing to head into the office for what he described as “another average day of emails and meetings.”
At press time, Thompson was already inside, preparing for his first meeting at 9:00 a.m, and the car sat quietly in the parking lot, awaiting its next use.
