Bendigo’s Oldest Cat Dies at 25 – That’s 117 In Cat Years!

in Bendigo News, Relationships

Bendigo’s Oldest Cat Draco Meowfoy has passed away today at the ripe old age of 25.

His owners Greg and Dianne McCawley from Huntly said “My parents let me adopt him back in 1998 from the RSPCA when he was 4 years old. I named him after that Harry Potter character Hermione.”

The cat passed away after a long battle with Cat Cooties. “We both feel like our hearts have been ripped out. He was our little fella. He had so much Cat-itude.”

Draco Meowfoy was a great Cathletic. He was an avid waterskier, skydiver and rock climber. Last year he won the Cat Quidditch Championships. Shortly before passing away he rescued another cat from a tree but unfortunately became stuck himself.

Mr McCawley said “He is not our cat, he doesn’t belong to us, we belong to him. He likes watching Harry Potter. Maybe that is the secret to his long and happy life.”

The Victorian Government has offered a State Funeral.
