Krispy Kreme Brings Signature Glaze To Bendigo

Krispy Kreme has announced plans to open its first store at the Bendigo Marketplace in February.

It will be the only store outside of Melbourne and is expected to be a huge tourist drawcard. Bendigo Marketplace spokesperson Chris Daniels said “Having a store like Krispy Kreme in the Marketplace is a huge win for Bendigo. Krispy Kreme is our MCG.”

Krispy Kreme will be celebrating with special edition Taste of Bendigo doughnuts based on local landmarks including Central Deborah Goldmine, Sacred Heart Cathedral and an extra special Long Gully doughnut that’s $10 but just a hole.

Social media has been abuzz with the exciting news “I didn’t think it would ever come to Bendigo” said one person. “I won’t have to ask the family to pick up a box when coming back from Melbourne” said another.

But not all of Bendigo is excited. Thelma Jacket from Eaglehawk said “There are way too many food shops in Bendigo. Krispy Kreme’s gonna make Weight Watchers impossible”.

Hit FM’s own Tim Reuben will be broadcasting live from the store and The Bendigo Standard will be giving away doughnuts on the day.
