Traffic problems have caused major ‘butt headaches’ for workers returning to their offices today.
Traffic volumes are returning to pre-pandemic levels despite increased home working according to a study by The Bendigo Standard.
“This traffic sucks balls. Are we in Melbourne?” said Bob Goss. “If I don’t leave by 6 am the CBD turns into a parking lot. Ironically, it’s the only way to find a car park in the CBD. Another lockdown can’t come soon enough.”
His thoughts have been echoed throughout Greater Bendigo.
White Hills resident Bruce Amway said, “I thought the Napier Street upgrade was supposed to fix the traffic issues, not cause it at the lake.”
Laura Aldi from Kangaroo Flat said “I swear I saw two cyclists pass me or maybe it was the same guy passing me twice. How good’s this coffee though?”
Some Bendigo citizens regret not staying home. “I should have worked from home or borrowed my son’s razor scooter,” said Geoff Chennings.
But it’s business as usual in Marong. “We don’t know what everyone’s complaining about,” said Larry Turtle.
