Bendigo Council Elections: Recommended Lockwood Ward Candidates

Muffin Finsteine

Hello, my name is Muffin Finestine. I’m 38 years of old and after six failed businesses I know what it takes to avoid a seventh. I aim to bring this slowly learnt skill to Council. It will be a promise to never invest in bitcoin and sell all stock right before the boom again. That’s something I won’t do to the Bendigo taxpayer. Also, I have learnt that not hiring staff can be a mistake. Wages is a big cost on any business however not paying any wages at all and leaving customers to make their own coffee, sandwiches, vanilla slices, hot pot soups, milkshakes, or ice-cream spiders, can be a mistake. Especially if you leave out the vodka to make their own Espresso Martinis after hours. The honour system works well in supermarkets, but I now know it does not work within general industry. With that lesson learnt I promise citizens of Lockwood will never have to fill-out their own parking fines or help weed Rosalind Park like some giant school working bee. A vote for me, is a vote for jobs, and a promise that I will NOT GO BANKRUPT A SEVENTH TIME!!!!

Juggson Juggson

I’ve lived my entire whole life in Kangaroo Flat. I was born in the hotel bathtub, married in the playgrounds, learnt to drive on the football field, and worked at the chicken shop, video shop, lolly shop, barber, tyre place, Post Office, real estate agent, and Aldi. I think it is the best place in the world. I have heard some people say Kangaroo Flat is the Paris end of Bendigo. I think if that is true Paris must be a pretty great place to live. I see there is no need to change anything at all in Kangaroo Flat. I don’t like the speed limits though. I hope you vote for me. I will keep Kangaroo Flat the place to be in Bendigo. Go Tigers.

Heat olive oil until shimmering over medium heat in a large soup pot. Add onion, carrots, celery, and one teaspoon of salt and pepper. Stir frequently until the vegetables are very soft. About 15 minutes should do. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. About 1 minute. Add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Cool and refrigerate the soup in an airtight container for four days, or in the freezer for up to two months. Reheat on the stove and add noodles and parsley just before serving. Serve topped with Parmesan. Enjoy!

A Box of Plums

Bendigo is a great place to live. It deserves to have pride in itself, with terrific heritage established from the gold rush, and current prosperity in farming, food and cultural activities. This is a destination everyone in Australia should be envious of, with new swimming centres, major tourist attractions and beautiful parklands for fun and active citizens to enjoy. Not to forget our local wines and beers to sit back and enjoy our many excellent restaurants and bars, or while enjoying a show at the beautiful theatres. I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the Greater Bendigo region. Building on the pride the people here have, as I have experienced and helped grow since moving to Bendigo in 2014 from Azerbaijan.
