Bendigo To Host Australia’s First Frozen Meal Expo

Josh Schmobs living alone with no prospects. He was cash strapped and ate frozen meals every night living off Aldi’s sausage rolls and frozen Indian butter chicken.

His love for frozen meals led him to create Australia’s first ‘Frozen Meal Expo’ to be held next weekend at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre at the Showgrounds.

He is expecting between 1000 and 10000 connoisseurs to attend over the weekend.

“The expo is a celebration of all things frozen meals” Mr Schmobs said. “Frozen meals get a bad rap. We’re trying to change people’s perspective. They’re really convenience meals that are stored in the freezer.”

The weekend will be opened by Masterchef judge Matt Preston and Bendigo’s own Bryan “Cogho” Coghlan.

The weekend will feature exhibits and seminars such as balancing a boiling hot meal on your lap while watching the footy, microwaving demonstrations, how not to be a loser while eating dinners for one, Instagramming tips and more.

The highlight of the weekend will be when Matt Preston will microwave his favourite childhood meals.
