Grandparents Continue The Tradition Of Making Their House Smell Weird

In a tradition passed down through generations, grandparents across the country make their houses smell weird again, much to the confusion and disgust of their visiting grandchildren.

According to sources, the pungent odours emanating from grandparents’ homes everywhere are a mix of strange and often unidentifiable smells, including mothballs, boiled cabbage, and that one weird candle they bought at the farmer’s market.

“I can’t even describe the smell,” said grandson Timmy, age 8. “It’s like something died in there, but somebody’s trying to cover it up with Airwick.”

Despite their grandchildren’s adverse reactions, grandparents insist that the smells are “just a part of the house” and refuse to open windows or spray air freshener.

“It’s a tradition,” said Grandma Betty. “My grandmother’s house always smelled like this, and her mother before her, her mother, and her mother’s mother. It’s just the way it is.”

When asked if the tradition will continue to be passed down to future generations, Grandma Betty shrugged and said, “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”

The grandparents will continue making the house smell weird, whether their grandchildren like it or not. And if you’re lucky, you might even experience it for yourself the next time you visit.”
