A patron at the Cambrian Hotel, who goes by the name of “Jeff,” has been exposed as three children in a trench coat pretending to be an adult.
According to eyewitnesses, the group of kids under ten had been frequenting the pub for weeks, ordering drinks, and even participating in pub games. The ruse was uncovered when one of the children accidentally slipped out of the trench coat, revealing the group’s true identities.
“We had no idea,” Cambrian bar staff said. “They looked like a regular adult, ordering pints and chatting with the regulars. We even let them play darts, and it’s a bit embarrassing, really.”
The children, who have not been identified, were escorted out of the pub by police and are now being questioned by child services.
“We’re just glad nobody was harmed,” the owner said. “But I think we’ll be checking ID’s a bit more closely from now on.”
When asked for comment, the children shrugged and said, “We just wanted to see what it was like to be grown-ups for a bit and drink craft beer.”
The incident has sparked a nationwide conversation about the dangers of children pretending to be adults and the need for stricter regulations on pub patrons.
“This is a serious matter,” said Lisa Chesters. “We need to ensure that our pubs are safe for adults and that children cannot sneak in and order alcohol.”
In the meantime, patrons of The Cambrian are being advised to watch for any suspicious-looking trench coats, just in case.
