Huntly’s own Makenzee Guppy has narrowly missed out on this year’s Archibald Prize. The talented youngster’s portrait of her mother Sharon came 3rd.
“Mummy farts a lot,” Makenzee told The Bendigo Standard. “I wanted to create a portrait that captured Mummy’s sense of humour.”
Mackenzee has been drawing ever since she came out of the womb. The artwork is Crayola on paper that was taken from the printer in Dad’s office. The work took approximately 5 minutes.
Mackenzee’s Father Jaxon said she takes after her mother.
Running since 1921, the Archibald displays portraits of exceptional Aussies by Australian artists. And every year, crowds flock to the Gallery to check out the impressive exhibition of Aussie faces.
