A five-day undercover operation netted 54 arrests and removed 30 kgs of illegal chicken salt, during “Operation Salty Chips,” Bendigo police said Thursday.
Police received a tip-off after a high number of takeaway shops sprinkled chicken salt instead of regular salt.
Law enforcement agents made 30 felony and 24 misdemeanour arrests during the three-day period. Agents seized 86 illegal salt shakers and issued 126 parking tickets.
“This is just the first of many operations you are going to see,” said Bendigo police.
