Local ratepayer, Gary Farke, can hardly contain his excitement as he anticipates how his city council will waste his pay.
“It’s like Christmas come early!” exclaimed resident Gary Farke. “I can’t wait to see what kind of bone-headed decisions our esteemed council members will make this time.”
“I just can’t wait to see how they’re going to screw things up this time,” said Mr Farke, adding that he’s particularly looking forward to watching the council blow through tens of thousands of dollars on unnecessary studies, expensive consultants, and convoluted bureaucratic processes.
“I mean, just think about all the money they’ve wasted in the past on things like that weird seat, the mall, or the study on the feasibility of building a monorail to the moon,” said Mr Farke. “The possibilities are endless.”
When asked about the council’s decision to spend $90m on the GovHub, Epsom local Carol Flask told The Bendigo Standard, “At least the new GovHub will fix all of Epsom and Huntly’s traffic problems.”
“Let’s face it, we all know our rates are going to be wasted on something stupid,” said Jethika Greene. “That’s part of the charm of living in this town, and we can all gather around and laugh at the absurdity of it all.”
So here’s to another year of financial irresponsibility and mind-boggling waste. The people of Bendigo can’t wait to see what their council will stupidly spend their rates on next!
