Jimmy Barnes Plays Goldmines Hotel

Luke Morris by Luke Morris
18 August 2018
in Bendigo News, Music, News

Last night Jimmy Barnes returned to Bendigo for a show at the currently closed Goldmines Hotel.

It was a private event held by the new owners.

They had met Barnes at a recent show at Ulumbarra Theatre.

Despite efforts to keep the show secret, word quickly spread as neighbours noticed the unmistakable gravelly tones of the one time Cold Chisel lead singer.

Once a feature of Bendigo’s live music and stand-up comedy scene, last night the Goldmines was once again a venue crowds flocked to.

However the eager masses were quickly dispersed when it was revealed Terence Trent Darby had also been invited to front INXS.

Barnes had been recovering after a recent fall at a Sydney show.

It is believed this night in Bendigo was one step towards his full recovery.
